This prosopographic research is focused on three main problematics : 1) social history : study of processes of ex-servicemen's return to civil life ; 2) history of representations : study of the influence of the former soldiers on the birth and the propagation of the Napoleonic legend ; 3) cultural history : study of the building of Belgian identity.
