A comparative study of the transcriptional regulation mediated by glucose in the yeast Kluyveromyces lactis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Project: PHD

Project Details

Description

The yeast Kluyveromyces lactis is closely related to Saccharomyces cerevisiae, but, in contrast, K. lactis is also known for its weak sensitivity to glucose repression. To determined the molecular basis of this difference, we tested the influence of KLMIG1 disruption on transcription of gluconeogenic genes and we cloned the CAT8 homologue to establish its role in this regulation.
