Introduction

Santiago Villarreal-Narvaez is a postdoctoral researcher at Namur Digital Institute (NADI)-UNAMUR with a keen interest in HMI, HCI, Gesture Interaction, and Augmented Reality.

 

After completing his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Master's degree in Web Intelligence from Jean Monnet University, Saint-Étienne, France in 2007 and 2010 respectively, he went on to earn a Ph.D. in Engineering Science in 2023. His doctoral research focused on Gestural Interaction and the gesture vocabulary proposed by end-users. He has been a Professor at Universidad de Las Américas, teaching software development, and has also collaborated with the Intelligent and Interactive Systems Laboratory (SI2 Lab-UDLA) on the ePHoRt project. Additionally, he has worked on research projects (ECA MecaTech, CARDIAMMONIA) to develop interfaces at LouRIM (UCLouvain).
