Introduction

Annick Castiaux has a PhD in Physics realised under the auspices of the Belgian National Foundation for Research (FNRS). After several post-doctoral projects supported by the European Union, she decided to join the private sector. During 4 years, she worked as a consultant in Information and Knowledge Management for I.R.I.S. SA, an spin-off company located in Louvain-la-Neuve. This experience gave her some knowledge of public and private organisations and their difficulties to manage technological changes. In 2002, she came back to the university as a Professor of Innovation and Technology Management. She teaches strategy and innovation courses, integrating both technological and managerial viewpoint. Her research interest is in the field of innovation management, with a focus on ICT and sustainable (eco-friendly) technologies. She is motivated by the study of complex managerial situations where a systemic approach is needed, as collaborative or participatory innovation. In 2016, she founded the Creativity and Innovation research center with 4 other academic colleagues. This center includes now 18 researchers. One of the current focuses of the center concerns the digital transition of organisations and territories, with a particular attention to sustainability and inclusion challenges.
