Introduction

Alejandra Michel joined the Research Center in Information, Law and Society (CRIDS) in August 2017 as a member of the Intellectual Property and the Liberties and Information Society units. After obtaining her Bachelor degree in Law from Namur University, she received a Master in Law in June 2016 in Louvain-la-Neuve and a Master of specialization in Information and Communication Technologies Law (ICT Law) in June 2017 from Namur University.

She is interested in critical issues related to Intellectual Property Law, Media Law, Privacy Law and Data Protection. Her research mainly focuses on the legal aspects of online information, digital content and web archiving (including the legal deposit of online publications). She works for the PROMISE II (web archiving) and the Wal-e-cities (smart cities/subproject MOB, LIV & ECO) projects. The PROMISE II project focuses on web archiving from cultural and historical perspectives. The objective is to study and analyze the legal framework for preserving online information and enabling web archiving in Belgium. The subproject MOB of Wal-e-cities focuses on the use of data and personal data's citizen to improve the mobility in Wallonia.

Before joining the CRIDS, Alejandra worked for the Journalistic Ethic Committee in Brussels and is therefore specialized in the fields of journalistic ethics and media law in general.
