Introduction

Élise Rousseau is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Tocqueville Chair in Security Policies (University of Namur) and a research fellow at the F.R.S.-FNRS. Before her FNRS mandate, she was a teaching assistant at the University of Namur and taught the tutorials of the following subjects: Political Science, International Relations: Theory and Practice (in English), Belgian Policy Issues, Philosophy, and Methods. In the framework of her thesis, conducted under the supervision of Thierry Balzacq, she investigates diplomatic practices in the Kimberley Process, the international forum created to regulate the rough diamond trade in order to prevent the diffusion of "conflict diamonds" in the global market. In the Tocqueville Chair in Security Policies, Élise conducts her research on international denunciations, the ethics and theories of International Relations. From September 2018 to March 2019, she is Predoctoral Visiting Fellow at the Centre for International Peace and Security Studies (CIPSS - McGill, Canada).
